just wondering...), i was rudely dragged out of my slumber by the co's harsh declaration that we should shun all those who slipped away from the thruth, as they inactivity is a bad influence.
he went on to heap the blame on them, "if they feel this way, then they should expect their due", "they bring shunning onto themselves" etc.... has it always been this way?

I definitely believe they are taking a harder approach now vs. the 90's.

I'm still active and my sister was DA'd because she got married in a church. She never wrote a letter or faced a Judicial Committee. They simply did it based upon her actions. I never completely shunned her. We recently have become more close and she even is a member here at JW.com.
I wish they would try to tell me to not speak to my sister. There would be some scrappin' going on between me and the elders.

he asked why.
i just said after a long pause, dad it's not the truth (you have to understand that i'm the one who preached to this man and got him in the truth) the conversation lasted about 5 minutes with him saying well who else teaches the right thing, you have to understand, jehovah has to have an organization.

Actually, in a recent WT (about the Republic of Georgiathey said that we should pray for our enemy. Then, one or two prayers in the next few meetings thereafter went something like, "Please forgive our persecutors and help them be won over to the faith by the conduct of our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted..."
